Summary

A classic and the most famous of the Buachaille Etive Mor ridges. The walk to the start of the ridge (which is hidden around the side of the north face) is under the impressive crags and other famous ridges that ‘the Buachaille’ is famous for.  With a short walk up a broken scree slope the bottom of the ridge is gained. 

 

As soon as the ridge has started you are climbing on perfect rock all the way to the summit. With a few steeper sections that lets you know you are defiantly climbing, broken up by a few flatter areas so you can take in the views across Rannoch Moor and towards the climbing area of Rannoch wall. 

 

From the top of the ridge the main scrambling is over but there are still a few rocky sections and gullies to manage before the summit suddenly comes into view.

From the summit it is a simple walk back down the rocky plateaux to the col before we are back on the path descending the coire back to the moor.

A very good route for those wanting to move from broken scrambling to more continuous climbing ridges.  Or for those who have rock climbed and want to get a first mountain route.
